Space Men Love Tang - Part Six

Posted by Justin | Read more | Comments (0) »

Some guys collect sports stuff, some amass stamps or coins, others are obsessed with liquors from around the world. I collect science fiction movies. We've already covered most of the good stuff, now we're stuck trying to extract some entertainment value from some of the world's most misguided attempts at movie making. At times this process is painful, but it makes the discovery of a previously unknown good sci-fi flick a worthwhile experience.

Spacemen Love Tang - Part Five

Savor the flavor guys and girls, this may well be the last installment of Spacemen Love Tang for quite a while. We're seriously scraping the far corners of the sci-fi world these days. Almost all the lovely space-maidens we've got in store today are from Italian and eastern European films. That's not to say that they are of lesser quality, in fact the opposite is true, most of them are actually quite amazing.

Yea, I know it's been a while, but this one should make up for it. This installment has it all; cold war weirdness, 1930's futurism, and a healthy dose of Italian boobsploitation.

Michiko - Uchu daikaijū Girara (released in America as The X From Outer Space) - 1967. The Japanese equivalent of the clean-cut all American girl. She doesn't really do much talking, but she has ample opportunities to dish out a wide variety of telling facial expressions.

I watched it again last night. I couldn't believe I missed the awesomeness of the theme song when I first watched it. Listen along now and have your mind blown.

It's probably safe to assume that you've never seen any of the movies featuring this batch of dream-boats. I've been on a real B-grade sci-fi kick lately. With the onset of dark skies and little day-light there's been plenty of time to work on electronic projects and dig deep into the forgotten realms of space. But like all intrepid space explorers know: there are some really incredible things out there.

Here come thirteen more alien vanquishing sci-fi dreamboats for your enjoyment. A few of the photos aren't so great, but considering that most of these movies have no chance of being released on dvd, it's surprising they even still exist.

Faith Montaine - Mutiny in Outer Space - 1965.

It's no secret, Sci-fi movies usually have a token dream-boat or two to hold people's attention while they get their dis-belief suspended. Alta from Forbidden Planet tops my list but there are quite a few who never got their chance to really shine for the masses. So, for your enjoyment, here goes a small sample of a few other space betties that might strike your fancy.
